한국 경북 문경의 ‘은총의 동산’에 세워지고 있는 에페소 성모님 집은

튀르키예 에페소의 성모님 집(Meryem Ana Evi)을 본떠 지어진 장소입니다.

이곳은 성모 마리아께서 말년에 머무시며 제자 요한과 함께

하느님 안에서 평화와 사랑의 삶을 완성하신 그 집의 정신을 이어가고자 합니다.

이 성모님의 집은 정동진 베드로 형제와 김동예 마르가리타 자매 부부가

자신들의 소유지를 지난 10년 동안 ‘은총의 동산’으로 정성껏 가꾸어 온 열매입니다.

그분들의 깊은 신심과 봉헌 안에서,

이곳은 이제 전 세계 신자들이 성모 마리아의 사랑과 평화를 체험하는

기도와 묵상의 성지로 발전하기를 희망하고 있습니다.

또한 아니마또레 평화기도 (Animatore Peace Prayer) 공동체가 중심이 되어,

마리아의 집에서 흘러나온 평화, 화해, 생태적 회복의 영성을

현대 사회 속에서 새롭게 살아내고자 하는 신앙 여정의 공간이 되고 있습니다.

2026 년 부활 시기에 완공되면,

**2027년 한국에서 열리는 세계 가톨릭 청년대회 (WYD)** 에 맞추어 전 세계의 국제 순례자들이 에페소 성모님 집의 은총을 체험하고,

마리아와 함께 하느님 안에서 평화를 찾는 한국의 두 번째 에페소로 자리 잡게 될 것입니다.

The House of Mary of Ephesus in Mungyeong, Korea

Located in the Hill of Grace in Mungyeong, South Korea, the House of Mary of Ephesus is being built as a faithful replica of the House of Mary (Meryem Ana Evi) in Ephesus, Türkiye.

It seeks to continue the spiritual heritage of the Blessed Virgin Mary, who, according to tradition, spent her final years in Ephesus with the Apostle John, living a life of peace, prayer, and deep communion with God.

This sacred house is the fruit of ten years of devotion and dedication by Brother Peter Jeong Dong-jin and Sister Margarita Kim Dong-ye, a couple who have lovingly cultivated their own land into what is now called the Hill of Grace.

Through their prayerful stewardship and faith, the site is hoped to grow into a sanctuary of prayer and contemplation, where pilgrims may encounter Mary’s love and peace.

The Animatore Peace Prayer Community continues this mission, embodying Mary’s spirit of reconciliation, ecological renewal, and inner transformation as a living testimony of faith for today’s world.

When construction is completed during Easter 2026, the site will welcome international pilgrims from around the world in conjunction with the World Youth Day 2027 in Korea, becoming a true “Second Ephesus” — a place where hearts are united in peace with the Blessed Mother.

🇬🇧 ✝️ Animatore Peace Prayer for the Healing and Restoration of the Soul ✝️

The fundamental starting point of the Animatore Peace Prayer lies in helping the human soul to be healed and restored through the intercession of the Theotokos, the Mother of God.

On the occasion of the enshrinement of the statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary at the House of the Virgin Mary of Ephesus in Mungyeong, Korea, created in the same likeness as the statue venerated at the original holy site of the House of the Virgin Mary in Ephesus, Türkiye, we have prepared the “Animatore Peace Prayer for the Healing and Restoration of the Soul.”

If there is someone in your family who is in special need of healing, we encourage you to personally visit the House of the Virgin Mary of Ephesus in Mungyeong and offer this prayer before the statue of Our Lady.

As international visitors also come to this place from time to time, we have prepared both an English version of the prayer and English holy cards.

Furthermore, this prayer may serve as a valuable aid for experiencing deeper grace when offered during a pilgrimage to the holy site of the House of the Virgin Mary in Ephesus, Türkiye.

We share this announcement with all members of the Animatore Peace Prayer Spiritual Family.

May the Lord, who began His work at the ancient sites of Nicaea and in the House of Our Lady in Ephesus, continue this work today in Mungyeong and Jeju, and in our prayers and daily lives.

Mungyeong Outdoor Statue of Our Lady of Ephesus – The Meaning of Her Tears

Beloved spiritual family of the Animatore Peace Prayer, because some of you also witnessed this together with us today in Mungyeong, I would like to share a special sign we experienced at the House of Our Lady of Ephesus.

The statue of Our Lady we have enshrined here is originally the “Underground Madonna”—Mary, Mother of Suffering and Peace—who was kept in the underground chapel of the House of Prayer in Ephesus, Türkiye, where I used to serve.

This statue had long been left in the underground workshop of a Muslim sculptor who worked near the tomb of Saint John the Apostle, and I brought her to the House of Prayer.

Her clay-like color and the shadows upon her face gave Our Lady a deep expression of suffering and compassion. This statue has also been a profound sign of grace for me personally.

At a time when I could not get up because of severe knee pain, the moment I took the hand of this statue of Our Lady, I was able to stand up right away—an experience of healing.

Since then, I have come to receive Our Lady as “the Mother who embraces suffering and offers healing, the Mother of Peace.”

Today, on the face of the outdoor statue of Our Lady in Mungyeong, we discovered what looked like traces of tears.

I believe those who were with us also saw this sign.

These tears are not merely marks of sorrow; they may be tears of joy shed as Our Lady beholds the prayers, offerings, and small acts of love that our community has offered.

And this is not the first time we have experienced such a sign.

A few months ago, during a healing prayer gathering in Mungyeong, some among you witnessed the indoor statue of Our Lady of Ephesus shaking strongly, to the point that even the Infant Jesus hanging at her neck was swinging intensely.

In that moment, it felt as though Our Lady herself was moving for the healing and restoration of the community, leaving a deep spiritual resonance in our hearts.

Today’s tears seem profoundly connected to that previous sign.

In a special way, before today’s Mass, there was a beautiful act of loving offering that surely delighted Our Lady.

For over a year now, at every monthly Mass in Mungyeong, Peter, our brother, his godson David, and his wife have quietly come down a day early to help prepare for the liturgy.

This time as well, they arrived in Mungyeong yesterday.

During the preparations for the very first Mass at the House of Our Lady of Ephesus, the sister discovered layers of dust settled all around.

Kneeling on the floor, she spent nearly three hours joyfully and gratefully wiping and cleaning the ground as an act of offering.

This pure love given from a lowly place where no one was watching must have deeply gladdened the heart of Our Lady.

Above all, today we celebrated the first Mass at the House of Our Lady of Ephesus in Mungyeong, now 95% completed.

This first Mass, brought into being through prayer and sacrifice, offerings and love, must have been a great joy to Our Lady.

I believe that all these acts of love soaked into Our Lady’s face and appeared as the sign of tears.

Therefore, the tears we saw today may be received as tears that share in the suffering of a world in pain, and at the same time, tears of joy over our small acts of love and offering—a twofold gift of grace.

Through the sincerity contained in the little love we offered today, it is as if Our Lady were gently confirming for us that the path we are walking is the right one. I pray that the tears of Our Lady may flow within each member of the Animatore Peace Prayer spiritual family as a deeper grace of peace, conversion, and joy.

“O Theotokos, Mother of God, who weeps with us in our suffering and rejoices in our small acts of love, be with us.”

(Ephesus Holy Mother’s House – The Hill of Grace)

“에페소 성모님 집” (La Casa della Vergine Maria di Efeso): esprime l’identità diretta con il luogo dove la Chiesa ha proclamato la fede in Maria come Theotokos (Madre di Dio) durante il Concilio di Efeso.
